Every dog has their favorite spots to sit, and mine enjoys the couch.  It's the perfect spot for him to rest his head up on the armrest while also being positioned in a way that he can see the activities of the family inside as well as any passers-by outside the window next to him. 
The end goal with this painting was to capture his loving watchful gaze and the light, feathery fluff of his presence.
